The Engineering & Operations Behind VES
A Brief History
From its start in 2012 through early 2024, Vision Engineering Solutions, LLC (VES) provided the Defense and Aerospace industries with engineering products and services related to optical tracking and data collection.
VES designed and built its own tracking gimbal (the VT-100), integrated COTS and custom components to build tracking systems, developed its own tracking system control software, and developed the necessary components for integrating that software with a variety of tracking systems.
By providing uncommon and invaluable experience with optical tracking systems and the capability to track and collect data on difficult targets, from mortars to MEO satellites and from hypervelocity projectiles to reentry vehicles, VES played key roles in several high-profile Defense programs. These initiatives include Army high-energy laser programs (HELTD, HELMD, HELMTT), the Navy’s Laser Weapon System (LaWS) and Hypervelocity Gun Weapon System programs, and numerous lower-profile programs.
Current Focus
After 12 years of engineering and operational successes, VES now focuses exclusively on offering customized licenses for its software and other intellectual property.
Today, through non-SaaS software licensing, VES delivers the fruition of its demonstrated expertise in electro-optics, fully researched, developed, and field-tested by a team committed to excellence.
The Engineering and Operational Successes Behind the Software and Intellectual Property
- 12 years of unique support to DoD RDT&E
- Developed five subsystems for the Navy Laser Weapon System (LaWS) program
- Evaluated Army laser weapon performance against targets in flight
- Tracked hypervelocity projectiles (HVPs) for the Navy’s Hypervelocity Gun Weapon System Program (HGWS)
- Assisted Air Force in laser-related research
- Designed and integrated a targeted upgrade package with 6 Kineto Tracking Mounts (KTMs) for the Yuma Test Center
- Designed and delivered a satellite tracking system to the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific
- Passive and active (laser) tracking, imaging, and ranging
- Hundreds of successes in challenging field test operations
- Tracking rockets, mortars, UASs, MDA missile intercepts, and LEO/GEO satellites
- Designed, built, and delivered in 12 months the first VT-100
- The team used the products it sold and understood the needs of the marketplace firsthand

Leadership
Edward (Ed) Logue has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Vision Engineering Solutions, LLC since 2012. He believes in the saying “culture eats strategy for breakfast” and saw VES become a company that built people, a company whose core values of Truth, Love, Diligence, Excellence, and Innovation were embraced and lived out by the entire team.
Under his leadership, the company refined and broadened its expertise, expanded its client base, and supported the growth and development of its team members, products, and services.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science Engineering, Ed served as a helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps for twenty years. He and his wife, Carol Ann, reside in Orlando and are active members of Family Church in Windermere. He enjoys family time, travel, hunting, fishing, some theater, and sometimes golf.

RDT&E
Optical data collection for testing and evaluation is at the core of our beginnings. We understand tracking, testing, and the collection of data required, whether it’s mid-wave infrared (MWIR) imagery of aircraft or laser-ranging data from RAM targets.
The Vision Engineer Solutions team has deployed sophisticated optical data collection systems to numerous test ranges, both CONUS and OCONUS, to collect data for R&D, engineering analysis, and documentation. The data you receive is metrically and radiometrically calibrated through fully calibrated sensors and tracking systems.
In addition to radiometric and metric data, we collect test environment data, including weather data, atmospheric transmission, and turbulence (Cn2), and thermal background.
